Almost Whole

The dimmed blue;
A shy face is shimmering
Over the mountain's shoulder

  1. Ok, but I didn't get the full picture; is the shy face that of the sun or the moon? It's probably the moon ("almost whole"), but then why the "dimmed blue"?

  2. In concerts lighting the technician plays with the lights by dimming or increasing their intensity. I got this idea when I was walking in the late afternoon, the blue sky was turning slowly darker, the moon was like a tilted head, almost full and the top of the hill was its shoulders.
    Any other suggestion?
